How to display the new WhatsApp API button menu

With the new layout for the WhatsApp API, menu options sent during a conversation with the traveler will be displayed in button format. Improving the browsing experience by making it more intuitive and engaging.

Buttons

• Main Menu: You now have up to 10 options on the main menu, displayed in a list format. If your menu has more options, the platform will automatically send them in number format. 
  
  

  

  

• Submenus: The limit is 3 buttons. If the submenu has more than three buttons, the platform will still send it in button format, but will create a selection drop-down list, similar to the one sent on the main menu.
  
  
  
  

Character Limit

With the new layout, buttons now have a 20-character limit to ensure a clean presentation. If a button has more than 20 characters, WhatsApp will split the text into two lines, creating a title and subtitle.

If the menu contains only 2 buttons and any of them has more than 20 characters, it will be sent as a list. See the example below:

How to install the menu

Access the "Askstore" menu and click on the "WhatsApp API - Button Menu" app. Then, select the "Install" option.

All set! Your WhatsApp menus will now be shown in button format.
