What is it?
First of all, what is the ‘Teach Robot’ function?
It is a system that our engineers specialized in AI created so that you can teach your robot new knowledge.
With the information that will be added through new teachings and Asksuite's artificial intelligence algorithms, your robot will become smarter, understand more travelers' questions and provide an even better experience for your future guests 🚀
How does it work?
When you notice that your robot does not understand more specific questions about your hotel, you can add them to its intelligence. This way, it starts to understand them in the following interactions and sends users your registered responses in the system.
For example:
Your hotel is in Orlando and a customer asks your virtual reservation assistant:
"How far is Disney World?"
As this is a very specific question for the hotel itself, it doesn't make sense for us to put its response as a standard for all our customers worldwide.
For this reason, we have created the ability to register anything specific to the reality of your hotel so that the robot also understands each particular context.
In short:
- The objective is to register answers to questions specific to each establishment;
- If the question was added to the questionnaire when activating the robot, there's no need to add it again through "Teach Robot";
- If the question is already in the questionnaire or in the "Teach Robot", and the robot still does not understand a message it received, click here to contact our Natural Language Support team.

Step by step
Follow the steps below:
1. Enter our Admin Panel;
2. Click on 'Teach Robot' (fourth option from top);
3. Click 'New teaching' on next page and add info related to the teaching;
Adding a new teaching is easy, but there are some essential items for a successful registration.
In the next options, each one will be explained to facilitate your understanding and speed up the process!
Let's use the example mentioned above. Let's say you want to add a teaching related to the distance from your hotel to 'Disney World':
- 'Description' field:
Here, you must register a name for this teaching, so that you can easily locate it again. In the Disney World example above, we can fill in the description as Distance from Disney World:
- Keyword:
This option refers to the name of the object or main subject of your teaching. In our example, it's Disney World:
- Units:
If you are responsible for more than one company and want to share this teaching with all of them, just select each unit this box:
- Language:
Here, you must select the language of this teaching:

💡 Tip: The teaching will be understood in the selected language, and it can be understood in the other languages available in the robot through automatic translation. You can also create another version of the same teaching by selecting another language to guarantee the translations are exactly the way you want.

- Synonyms:
Here, you should register the synonyms with the keyword, so that the scope of understanding is much greater:

💡 Tip: Depending on the keyword you are using, the robot will automatically suggest synonyms for you. If that happens, just click the checkmark to add the ones you like! For example, look what the robot suggests if "car" is the keyword:

- Phrase Variations:
You must register at least 5 phrases that travelers usually ask about this topic and even more if you want:
Notice how the robot automatically identifies where the synonyms are within the sentence, and if you type a sentence without a synonym, it will alert you.
In this case, just add one of the registered synonyms to the phrase, or add a new synonym in the previous section so that the phrase can be understood by the robot:

💡 Tip: The robot will show you real sentences that it could not understand related to what you are registering. This way, you can add these phrases to the training. To do so, just click on the checkmark of the phrases you deem relevant, just like the synonym suggestion.

⚠️ Attention:
- It's recommended to register phrases that are different from each other, so that the robot can understand as many variations as possible;
- If there is a question, such as another teaching with similar phrases or resemblance to a subject already covered by the questionnaire, the robot will notify you to ensure that the teachings work properly.

- 'Response' field:
Then, select the type of response you believe is most appropriate for that teaching.
You can select as many options as you want between text, image and button, to create the ideal answer!
If the answer includes text, register the answer always remembering to be friendly and give as much information as possible about the topic, so a greater number of travelers can be satisfied.
For responses with an image, we suggest a resolution of 600x600 and a square format for the best aesthetics.
Also pay attention to the 5MB limit and the file format, which must be .jpg or .png.
For responses with a button, just write the text that will appear on the button and put a link to the page that it will open, such as a pdf menu, for example.

💡 Tip: You can register a response with 1 or more format combinations, such as Image + Text or Image + Text + Button with link.

- 'Save' button:
Remember to save your teaching when finished by clicking on “Save teaching”.
If you need to close the process before finishing, you can “Save draft”.
4. The next step after saving is publishing your teaching. So what does that mean?
When you click Save after editing, your new teaching will be registered in our system.
To make the question accessible to your robot, you will need to click on the “Publish teachings” button:
Once clicked, the button will change to indicate that the Artificial Intelligence is doing its part and training the robot to add this new information:
When the process is complete, the button will change to “Test robot”, allowing you to see your changes in practice:

Once trained, in addition to the phrases you registered (with synonym variations), Asksuite's intelligence will be able to understand hundreds of variations within the context taught.
