When using the platform, it's essential to stay within the character limits for each communication channel. Each channel has a maximum capacity, as outlined below:
- Instagram: 1,000 characters
- WhatsApp: 3,500 characters
- Web Chat & Facebook Messenger: 1,600 characters
These limits are set by the channel administrators and enforced by the platform to prevent message delivery failures.
What Happens if the Character Limit is Exceeded?
If your message exceeds the limit, a red warning will appear near the send button (see image below), showing the number of characters over the limit. The message cannot be sent until it is revised to fit within the channel’s restrictions.
How to Adjust Your Message
To resolve this issue, shorten the message to meet the channel’s limit. Here are some tips:
- Focus on essential information only.
- Break long messages into smaller parts.
- Remove redundant content.
